A devil in disguise

but when you

take away that mask

intimidating horns

what then remains

is much less threatening

than you may think,

behind that mask

who’s there?

Please show me

who you are for real

and tell me, please

what happened

that has caused you

so to hide yourself

creating fear;

don’t you come near

I’m dangerous!

There’s something

in the eyes behind that mask

that make me  long for you

to meet you, but for real.

So take away

that devilish mask

and look me in the eyes.

There’s nothing here

for you to fear!
